Ski jumping hill at night in Vikersund

Went to the ski jumping competition in Vikersund this past Saturday with T. It was a gorgeous day, not cold at all, and the jumping was fun to watch. The participants jump long distances from the top to the bottom; some of the best jumps are over 200 meters (over 656 feet). The Norwegians call it ski flying because that’s what it looks like when the jumpers are in the air. Anyway, this was how the hill looked in the evening when we left.

Ski flying at Vikersund

We went to see the ski jumping, or in this case, the ski flying at Vikersund, a long hill for ski jumping, not so far outside of Oslo, in February. There were a lot of people there. It was a gorgeous winter day but very cold, so we froze while we were watching the competitors. Afterwards we ate dinner at a friend’s house. It was a very nice day.
