January sunrise and rising smoke

A few days ago, I witnessed an exceptionally colorful and fiery sunrise. I snapped some photos as I often do, and right before I was to leave for work, the rising smoke contrasted against the sky looked as though it had caught fire. I got some photos of this as well.

Two girls graffiti

An abandoned building along the river, and the graffiti artists were at it again. Every now and then they produce something interesting and beautiful, like this. But all too often it’s just scrawl and garbage.

Early morning sky again

More gorgeous skies around sunrise time. This autumn has seen its share of such skies. I’m glad I’ve gotten the chance to see them.

Specialty of the house

T. made pizza the other night for dinner–his specialty. He makes a mean seafood pizza. The pizza you see here is half seafood, half ground beef–thin crust. I love it. Talk to you tomorrow.

Warm red colors

The kitchen area at the hotel in Newburgh–remember? I was trying to capture the red colors that I really liked. This photo was the best of the bunch………..

Tugboat and barge on the Hudson River

Never get tired of talking about or photographing the Hudson River. It is an amazing and beautiful river and waterway, with a lot of history. And it’s dotted with small picturesque towns, many of which have undergone extensive renovations and rehabilitation after some years of stagnation. The tugboat and barge remind me of what the river has been used for during many years–transportation of goods.

Crazy summer skies in Oslo

Been taking a lot of shots from my kitchen window, as always. I should start another blog–From My Kitchen Window–or something like that. I watch the seasons change and the skies erupt and clear again from my window. This summer has been especially interesting with weird cloud formations and stormy skies.
