Snow-laden tree

Another shot from when we were at Lysebu for our research seminar. I am fascinated by winter this year and the way the snow sits on the branches of the tree. We were out driving on Saturday evening and since it has gotten milder, some of the snow has melted, but then it got cold again so there is this kind of glass-like look to the tree branches.

I was at a research seminar this past week and it was held up in the hills of Oslo–at a conference center called Lysebu. These are some of the few pictures I managed to take of the area around the center. Lovely day–the snow was glistening on the trees.

Winter scene in Elverum

We were visiting friends in Elverum yesterday and today–a nice visit. This was the view outside my friend’s window at around 3:00 pm today. Lovely sky! It was pretty cold in Elverum but there wasn’t much snow. The Christmas feeling continues…….

A photo from last winter showing how much snow we got around this time. This year is not so bad. It’s been cold but there hasn’t been much snow.

It’s bitter cold in Oslo now, but we don’t have snow yet. This photo is from last winter when we had a lot of snow. I’m not really a winter girl but I have to admit that something about snow appeals to me when taking photos. So it’s kind of fun to walk around in the snow even though deep inside I’m longing for summer.
