I visited the city of Bergen on the west coast of Norway during Easter vacation, together with two friends from New York. We found the city to be very charming and beautiful. I took a lot of photos as we walked around, and am sharing some of them with you today. Enjoy.
Got a good shot of the night sky tonight–a lot of planet sightings in March. Tonight was the chance to see Jupiter and Venus–Jupiter is to the left of the crescent moon and Venus is above both of them. Fascinating to be able to see both planets…..
I thought it was interesting to see the tree branches captured in the river ice. Wonder if the branches will right themselves after the ice melts? I’ll be following what happens.
I went for a long walk up along the Akerselva River, as far as Nydalen, today. It was a lovely day, and as always I had my camera with me and decided to take a short video of the Nydalen Metro Station’s Tunnel of Light in Oslo, Norway. You step on to the escalator that connects to the station platform, and for 30 seconds you can experience a tunnel of rainbow colors that shift color constantly; the sound patterns (“music”) also change along with the lights. The station was designed by architect Kristin Jarmund, and the interactive installations were created by Intravision System. Enjoy!!
It got colder and snowed last night in Oslo, after a couple of weeks of mild weather–a taste of spring. But as always, you cannot trust March. So of course, springtime was not to be, not yet. We still have to get the most out of winter. But the trees and bushes looked pretty with all the snow on them this morning. By the evening, it was gone from them. And this weekend is supposed to be warm, so a lot of the snow will melt.
